In this video, Entrepreneur Network partner Bryan Elliott meets with Shark Tank‘s Mark Cuban to discuss entrepreneurship, getting started and success.
People can be born or grow into entrepreneurs, Cuban says. Some of us are wired that way, some fall into it and some realize later in life that they’re destined to be an entrepreneur.
To be successful though, you’ve got to get started. Everyone has ideas, but you have to take that step to pursue yours to pave your way towards success. When you first start, it’s important to not focus solely on raising money and getting investments. Instead, focus on getting customers. If you can find someone who likes what you’re doing, they’ll support you, Cuban says.
A major problem for entrepreneurs is getting stuck, and this is often a result of “fear of the unknown” — as the investor puts it. The only people who find success are those who take that next step, go out there and see what happens..
